I’m not worried about the UK’s vegetable shortage. Here’s how I grow my own

It could be the bad weather in north Africa, the fallout from Brexit or suppliers hit by massive energy bills — whatever the reason, there is a shortage of fruit and vegetables on supermarket shelves. Aldi is rationing tomatoes, Lidl is limiting the number of salad bags that customers can buy, Asda has capped cauliflower purchases and at Tesco in Plymouth things are so desperate they’ve put Snack a Jacks in the fruit and veg aisles. Meanwhile, farmers’ unions claim that the lettuce shortage is just the tip of the iceberg (sorry).
