Coyote Trio Wrap Up Overseas Seasons

VERMILLION, S.D.—A trio of South Dakota women's basketball alumnae have wrapped up their 2022-23 overseas seasons.

Coyote Hall of Famer Bridget Yoerger (2009) completed her 14th professional season and her 12th season in Luxembourg. She moved to a new team this season, leading the Sparta Bertrange to a third-place finish in the Luxembourg Total League in 2022-23. Yoerger was named the league's Center of the Year and garnered a spot on the all-league first team for the seventh time. She averaged 13.5 points, 12.3 rebounds and 3.8 assists in 22 games. She was her team's leading rebounder for the ninth consecutive year.

Yoerger also represented the country of Luxembourg in a 3x3 tournament at the 2023 Games of the Small States of Europe, going on to win the gold medal at the games.

Abigail Fogg (2017) wrapped up her sixth professional season in Europe. Fogg spent year six with Castors Braine, finishing runner-up in Belgium's top women's division. She averaged 10.3 points and 6.2 rebounds for 21 games.

South Dakota's first-ever WNBA draft pick, Hannah Sjerven (2022), spent her first professional season with the Sydney Flames of the Women's National Basketball League (WNBL) in Australia. Her season was cut short in February when she decided to return home to the U.S. following her father's diagnosis with a terminal illness. Sjerven averaged 6.2 points and 4.8 rebounds in 18 games with the Flames.
